Flora and Fauna found in the area
The area is a day paradise for nature lovers, especially birds, orchids, butterflies, and other colorful insects.
At night, the fruit and moth-bats replace the day-birds. Tree frogs sing their romantic gestures amongst the chorus of many other animals. Stick insects come out to mimic their surrounding branch, and feed. The orchids make their rounds too. Some let loose their wonderful unqiue smell only at night.
Only by saturating all your senses with this ambient, can you get the true experience, but here are some links to give you an idea:
Lou Jost's Website: www.loujost.com
Lou studies orchids in the area, and has discovered a rare find in an explosion of new orchid species, Teagueia. His journal gives us an insight to undiscovered areas of the Llanganates.
